Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 27th Annual Meeting of the Korean College of Helicobacter and Upper Gastrointestinal Research and the 16th Japan-Korea Joint Symposium on Helicobacter Research to be held at the Paradise Hotel Busan, Korea from March 8 to 9, 2019.

As always it has been, this joint symposium has been a major academic gathering for Helicobacter study and related health issues. The agenda of this year encompasses more expanded range of issues from the Helicobacter to the gastric cancer. World leading scholars are invited to present state-of-the-art lectures and to share their perspectives in this field. Beyond the Japan and Korean collaboration, extinguished Asian scholars also will participate to make this symposium outstanding and remarkable. Two-day program is consists of various Helicobacter-related diseases in Asia. Gastric cancer prevention and Helicobacter treatment strategies are the core topics of this annual meeting. In particular, all the leading researchers doing trials for the prevention of gastric cancer through H. pylori treatment in asymptomatic populations will attend.

We expect our participants to deliberate on a number of new developments in fields of Helicobacter infection and gastrointestinal disease and to share their cutting-edge expertise and knowledge.

Busan is the second largest city in Korea. The city's natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan's increasing reputation as a world class city for tourism and culture, and it is also becoming renowned as a hot spot destination for international conventions.
